The short answer

Rovinj is a tender stop: boats land you at the harbor of a hilltop old town crowned by St. Euphemia's church. The town is best on foot and fits easily in a half day. Pula's Roman arena is further south down the coast if you want more.

What goes wrong, and how to avoid it

Beware

  • Tender port; wind can stop tenders.
  • Steep, slippery stone streets.
  • Small town gets crowded when ships are in.

Do this

  • Wear shoes with good grip.
  • The Tourist Board office is at Trg na mostu 2 (Mon-Fri 8:00-16:00, Sat 8:00-13:00).
